Over a period of eight years, 82 to 97 people died from Somali Piracy. Over a period less than two years, 64,000 people died in Gaza.

Like the title says, it's quite interesting to see the international response to the piracy problem off the Somali coast, a problem that arose partly because of foreign trawlers stealing Somali fish from local waters, dumping toxic waste in Somali seas, and violently attacking Somali fishermen in their own waters. This threat raised enough global alarm that the following nations felt they HAD to deploy their navies along our coast:

Albania
Australia
Bahrain
Belgium
Bulgaria
Canada
China
Croatia
Cyprus
Czech Republic
Denmark
Estonia
Finland
France
Germany
Greece
Hungary
India
Iran
Ireland
Italy
Japan
Jordan
Latvia
Lithuania
Luxembourg
Malaysia
Malta
Netherlands
New Zealand
Norway
Pakistan
Philippines
Poland
Portugal
Republic of Korea (South Korea)
Romania
Russia
Saudi Arabia
Seychelles
Singapore
Slovakia
Slovenia
South Africa
Spain
Sri Lanka
Sweden
Thailand
Turkey
United Arab Emirates
United Kingdom
United States
Yemen

If an average of just 8–11 deaths per year off the coast of Somalia was enough to mobilize the international community (let’s also remember this same international community did nothing when reports emerged of Italy dumping nuclear waste along Somali shores, or of Iranian and Chinese fishing vessels attacking and stealing Somali fish), then surely they should move heaven and earth in response to the almost 70,000 casualties in less than two years in the Gaza conflict.

Because dadkan ma fikirayo nolol Lacag bis ba maskaxeed ku jiraa the problem with the pirates was never that they were killing people because the pirates would hold the hostages for as long as needed to get their money. Rather the issue is the freedom of hostage lacag badan wey qasbay and they want to keep their money and trade. So they forcing all the world fiiri nimankan xoolaha dhalay we need to fight the evil. And they use the threat of death to convince the people

However the threat of money and the threat of death are not linked so even when in palastin all the people are dying from genocide there is no money to lose from not doing anything. So they will not do anything

Exactly insurance rates and cost of freight skyrocketed due to insecurity pirates caused. It was all about 💰 and ensuring transport rates stayed low and goods made it to countries on time
