No wonder why so many children, especially Black/African ones, become angry, closed off and broken people as adults. What he needed was a long and frank but calm conversation from his father about why what he did was wrong and then given a big long hug. The father should not be confused when his kid gets older and isn't close with him at older age. He is setting up that kid for failure and will have difficulty establishing and maintaining relationships with other people. He will learn to not be vulnerable with anyone, especially his dad. This is intergenerational trauma in action and his dad was a complete fool not to break it. So sad.

Child abuse is not debatable. The reason why so many people are fucked up is because of the way they were treated and raised. The most well adjusted people in society are those who were raised in loving and affectionate homes at childhood. It's so obvious growing up that all of the kids I knew who are now in jail, divorced (one side or both), addicted to drugs or are now dead were from kids whose only touch from their parents were when they were beaten up. Playing basketball or goofing around with my friends only to hear their hooyo violently scream at them to come in. There are real life consequences to this.
