This probably would have happened all over the world if Islam didn't enshrine the Arabic language and basically forbid it. You'd see different versions of the Qur'an popping up everywhere, especially as political leaders try to differentiate themselves from other political groups like you saw historically with Europe. There'd be a Persian Qur'an, Turkish Qur'an, Somali Qur'an, Tuareg Qur'an... and the translations would probably screw shit up and make Islam even more fragmentary with deep schisms in practice in a manner not unlike Christianity when you compare things like Protestantism, Orthodoxy and Catholicism.
