Omar Abdirashid said he is undecided if he will run for Puntland President or not in 2019.

That is if he is running in 2019. The guy is a big fish Puntland though big might still be too small.

His dad was President and before that PM of Somalia. He has been PM of Somalia twice. His goal is to attain the top position and rule all of Somalia. If he goes and runs for state presidency it will mean a delay to that ambition of his.

His dad was murdered while he was very young on the job being President of Somalia. It is psychological that he wants to be President of Somalia and finish his dad's turn.

His dad was only in office for a little over of two years. After Somaliand joined Somalia to become the Republic of Somaliaf on July 1960 his dad became Prime Minister of a unified Somalia just a few days later after unification and both granted Independence.
