Official: Somali Airlines is getting revived

They acquired two airbus a320s, we could see a merge of the existing Somali airlines Dallo and Jubba airways under the new airline

This is a humble start, I could see them operating flights from Mogadishu-Djibouti or Mogadishu-Nairobi

This plane can land no problem at Hargeisa Egal airport, here is a a319 at hargeisa airport

Bossaso also has a long enough modern runway

So theres no reason for them to buy long haul airplanes, they dont have the money to operate them anyways

I could agree with you but then we’d both be wrong

HSM's previous administration promised the same thing, reportedly they were claiming that Somali airlines will be operational on October, 2013. It turned out to be fake news.

Great addition to this piece of news. As a skeptic myself, it’s natural to proceed with doubt when considering anything with Hassan Sheikh.

I don't think this is necessary. I'm of the opinion that we should keep our air travel market private and simply better regulate the existing private airlines. Creating a national airline would directly compete with current Somali carriers and make us like every other third-world country with a shitty unremarkable national carrier. The American model is the way!
