Western superiority complex and a desire to keep there hegemony colonialism outside of the new world failed now they need a new way to control African and Asian nations
The British were more realistic and just were just interested in exploitation while Americans are delusional and think the whole world will be Americanized and liberal western ideals are better for the eastern world in order to civilize them
They have succeeded there goal when it comes to Americanization of culture but there democracy and nation building has been a failure and is simply used to control third world nations.
