Garowe Developments

Garowe should be spacious and town planned in every quarter of the town. Just a sanitation policy like this below can make the town look like a respectable capital.

Making Garowe the capital of Puntland was a smart strategic move. It has attracted a lot of investment away from Bosaso.

More projects like this will happen more frequently once we have a robust taxation system that is applied across the region. Imagine when the sales tax is collected, property, shops, public transport, our budget will be massive to create our own highways.

I think Puntland already is the leader in roads. Look how many different sections of garowe is already paved.

Duqa Garowe, Axmed-barre Siciid: "Dhulka Banaan ee magaalada Garoowe cashuur baanu ku soo rogi doonaa si joogto ah ugu socoto, majiri doono qof Dhul iska haysanaya oo aan dhisanayn waa in la dhisto dhulka ama qof dhisan kara laga iibiyo".

Good news! Garowe is not allowed to have empty plots sitting for no reason, people will have to pay taxes on it or they will have to sell it to those who can build on it.

Garowe really needs to make shops make normal signs and not write on shop walls, also every shop needs a large window so that people can see inside. It's also better for security that way.
Otherwise, the town looks really clean and there are pavements everywhere. Also the roads need lines to demarcate the lanes.

What a beautiful video of Garowe, the town planning is just absolutely remarkable. Wallahi legit I thought this was somewhere else. The roads, the trees, the building, the grid like road network and intersection on top of the cleanliness is just absolutely out of this world.

This is how a city looks like. All it needs is 'road signs, street signs, paved side-walks' and this can pass as a world class city. I can't wait to see Garowe as the only town in all of Somalia with a proper road drainage for the whole city and 'water treatment plants' to make tap water drinkable. If Garowe Mayor achieves this, all that's left is private investors to be invited and create a remarkable city

When you look at those prank videos from Garowe you can see a lot of the sidewalks are paved already, so they are working on it.

You touched on a very important matter before and I agree with you. Those metal shacks shops on the side of the streets need to be demolished. All shops need to meet certain standards, including having a window front etc.

We need to make Puntland a public service heaven that's the only way we will escape the trap of 3rd world status and enter 2nd world. All regional towns need a health post and MCH capability, we need to ensure low level medical services can be delivered to the bulk of our population without leaving their town.

In the major towns we need more general hospitals that take referrals from the regional health posts who can handle medium to complicated surgeries. Finally we need specialist centers which requires foreign funding and management to provide this capacity locally.

Do you know what's missing that really irritates me?

Facility management! You will see neglect in public buildings for no reason other than the fact that nobody has thought to fix it. I feel like nobody is in charge of this. They can simply hire custodians/cleaners/labourers to maintain public buildings, but they're not doing this. Cajiib.
