Glad now he is locked they can fetch alot of information regarding his connections to Al shabaab
The government should question him but they should keep a eye on his movement, where he is and who he talks to. No doubt there are middle men to get to shabaab higher ups and those are the people NISA should put in a dark cell and squeeze.
I'm at that stage of just saying we should turn all known strongholds of shabaab into rubble. What with the US bases being built and oil exploration in regions with shabaab activity, I think this may become a likely outcome.

No it is crucial during these times when we are starting to develop, stabilise and extract oil and with Ethiopia getting too active we need alshabaab gone in 2 years ASAP.
I agree but without proper strategy and arms were no better than them. We need to tip the scales. For too long this stalemate of capturing areas and then losing them has gone on for too long. Now with the arms embargo lifted the FGS should focus on training and arming new batches as well as developing new methods of taking and holding gains.
That's the main issue we can easily beat them but holding the land is the issue.

Al shabaab are enemies to the Somali public. I have little need to know what their view points are. I respect him for journalistic abilities and I don't think he's some nefarious person but I would be lying if I said I didn't want to see the men he interviewed dead.

And it called journalism. Many news media do investigate criminal organisation, terrorists, etc. Vice for example went to the enslaved migrants in Libya and made news about it.
