Apple has been less innovative with iphone. The only thing they had going for them was it's processor and camera/video but it ain't the case anymore.
The pixel 6 and galaxy s21 are the best flagship phones right now.

I wish I gotten the pixel 6 over the iphone 13, I don't even use cinematic mode or any of the other modes. I only gotten the 13 cause my previous phone was so shit, bad battery, cracked screen, so slow.

Flagship phones have been unimpressive since about 2018.

Not much has changed except for higher refresh rates.

Buying a new midranger every year is more cost effective than buying a new flagship every two/three years.

These midrangers get the tech of the prior year's flagship at a fraction of the price + up to date security support.

You can often still resell the midranger and recoup a big portion of the original purchasing price if you sell within a year. Meanwhile the idiot who buys it from you will get a phone with a battery that is going downhill.

Batteries of smartphones are really crappy and require to be changed every ~1.5 years or so to maintain their original capacity.

Budget phones don't deliver as good camera/video capability as flagship phones especially when it comes to taking low light photos/videos. It's better to buy used flagship phones that are 1 or 2 year old if you are on a budget. I bought my old pixel 3 used for only $220 and it was only 1.5 year old.

Not budget, but midrange. There are 3 categories: budget, midrange, flagship.

You can download the Google Camera (Gcam) APK and take high quality pics on any phone these days. The picture quality is mostly in the software and not the camera hardware. The difference is really minimal.
