Next Somali president

I have a couple of questions to discuss with you,

1. Will Hassan Sheik successfully manage to hold his planned one vote one man election? Also how realistic is to hold such election when shabab controls a big chunk of land/citizens in the south, add that to the current disagreement with JL and PL.

2. If Hassan Sheikh goes ahead with the plan and holds a partial election on only friendly territory, will he get reelected? And if yes how would that work in regard to his governments legitimacy and recognition both inside and outside of Somalia?

3. Is there any opposition in Muqdisho to counter him or did he manage to solve their disagreement? Does the people in capital fully support him running for a third term in office?

4. Will Deni become a candidate for the presidential seat in 2026?

What are your predictions? How can Somalia move forward and form an all inclusive government? Share your thoughts.

I don't believe in this supposed opposition in Xamar. When he goes through with his fake election, it's important international partners recognize it as a power grab.

HSM swiftly outmanoeuvred/brought on internal Hawiye so called opposition. They set kheyre up at that meeting in xamar. Made him think he had a chance of bargaining. There will be no opposition to him come 2026 and HSM corporation look set to dominate the FGS apparatus for the foreseeable future.

As for Deni 2026? More chance of me getting struck by lightning in the Sahara thrice over.

Whoever succeeds Deni in PL must be prepared and be of grit and steel. Things will come to a head soon and what happens in these coming few years will have ramifications on Somalia’s trajectory in the coming decades.

Do you people actually believe hsm is going to go ahead with 1m1 vote? some of you people really need to let go of your fantasies that this parrot will achieve anything while being in office.

1. Unlikely he holds 1m1v elections and if he does the votes will mostly come from xamar and the areas surrounding it.

2. I hope he doesn’t do that either hold 1m1v elections throughout the country or just have the old voting system. If the 1m1v elections only happen in xamar it might as well be called the local banaadir elections.

3.Yes there’s decent opposition most notably kheyre, sharif, farmaajo and the newcomer Aynte will be an interesting candidate to watch out for. As for the locals living in xamar, its split but i would say the majority would rather have a different president but some people wont mind if he wins the next elections. People that support hsm are mainly people from his own qabil and even then most of them would rather have shariif sit on the kursi. As for the other hawiyes most dont support him.

4. I heard he will try to run for next elections but the chances of him winning are slim but he can definitely be influential in the elections

My predictions, either hsm wins a third time and it becomes bleak for Somalias future or someone else like kheyre or shariif wins and it becomes much better for all of us. Lets hope they become serious about eradicating AS so that an all inclusive government becomes a real possibility

I predict DENI or HSM remains in power. I hope for Hassan Kheyre (very unlikely). We are doomed for another 4 years. I’m telling y’all. Them 60+ rulers ain’t doing us a favour.

he’s done some good stuff. But the corruption is unreal. He and his family are eating real good (same as DENI) On the other hand Farmaajo is useless but he ain’t corrupt. Who would you pick?
None of them, they're all the same to me, Deni gives me bad vibes, HSM makes me nauseous and Farmaajo was just useless as you pointed, we need someone with clear vision and a solid strategy to fix and unite the country.
