Almost a perfect match between Dir Gadabuursi and Isaaq HY on the 111STR's.

There was also a thread where the topic came up on where I found it on somnet:

@Bohol
What do you think?

Much to the chagrin of some 'Hashemites', it is already established that the Samaroon, Isaaq and Ciise individuals that are HG-T share a common ancestor.

Nonetheless, don't read too much into STR's test results when establishing the exact relationship and TMRCA of clan lineages that are hundreds of years old. More of us need to do the Y-full/Big-Y test to determine when we split from our 'Arab' Al Faraj cousins and what our specific Y16897 SNP's are.

Realistically speaking though, is it really true that Dir are related to Al Farah tribe? Because that would be the ultimate irony.

Dir prides itself on being an authentic Somali clan. The oldest in fact.

Don't know if yuz a troll account?:cosbyhmm:

Hmm, this would imply that Magadle Maxamed Xanaftire is the paternal clan of Habar Garxajis, not the mother's clan after all. This would make Samaroon and Habar Garxajis very close relatives indeed, within 30 generations.

Checking this hypothesis a Biyomaal and a Quranyow Garre should be tested if they also are very closely related to this lineage, as those are also Maxamed Xanaftire clans.

A few possibilities:
Isaaq is Isaaq Axmed "Magadle" Maxamed Xanaftire? Habar Xabusheed is related maternally somehow.
Isaaq is the mothers clan of both Habar Magaadle and Habar Xabusheed? Could be a Habar confederacy of uterine brothers from different fathers?
Confederacy founded by a religious leader?
