It's not really a clan beef, but more so a political one. To put it simply, they want to be part of Oromia, while we totally reject Oromia in its entirety and want to remain in DDS.

What complicated things is that we shared many towns. And the referendum made the split very complex and created a vacuum with many disputed areas. Which has caused the conflict that you see today. It has remained politically unsolved for about 20 years now and counting.
