Every man for himself alhamdulilah. The hard working people will be visible now.

The best one can hope for is structural changes, irrespective of whether we keep the current regions or not. Imagine several new regions, but the same system as before, with nominations/dismissal of political positions straight from Addis :francis:

The best one can hope for would be that democracy would be allowed without interference, irrespective of the non-political outcome.

Democracy in local regional level or federal level? Abiy will stay in power and after him the western people will groom another yes man in charge.

As for local level it all comes down to the people you get grouped with. If you get grouped with low IQ people then you can forget democracy because they will hold on to power. If you get grouped with like minded people then each one of you will have his turn leading the region.

I meant on a regional level. The reason I said this, from those I've personally seen who are in favor in splitting the regions, have reasoned it due to disappointment in the DDS presidents & administrations. As we all know, that kursi is given from Addis. And if they create new regions, but the same procedures remains, would there be much difference? That's what I was referring to.

In the end, as you mentioned, it may probably boil down to if you are on good terms with the people/clans you're forming a region with. In such a case, it will reduce the political tensions and become easier to come into some form of an agreement on sami qeybsi.

The last paragraph sums it all and is what I have been praying for. I feel like my people sit on the most fertile parts and are hardworking. The puppet administration at jigjiga held my people back. My people’s region will grow now an develop at a fast rate.

I don’t think Addis will appoint people because there is no threat anymore to Addis once the regions get divided into smaller regions. Everyone is free to manage how they want. You heard this from me 1st.

You have a point. Some regions will be better off than others, and it may create a competitiveness when everyone have to focus on improving their own land and the livelihood for their people. Similar to the FMS of Somalia.

Regions with a high urban population and those with farming communities will have a head start, as they currently contribute most taxes.

On your last part; anything is possible at this point, and there're no reason to doubt you as it makes sense.

My cousins in addis are awaiting of the unfolding the banner

You cousins in Addis? I knew that you were a sneaky Ethiopian all along:williamswtf:

Truth to the matter, anyone who partakes in the ‘liberation’ of JL (& KGS) should expect to meet their demise, unless they’re wee prepared. Considering the sheer size of territory controlled by AS, their massive concentration of manpower, their HQ, the support of the local clans and elders, and to top of with ill-suited terrain. Sounds like a straight death trap to me :damn:

Karanle majority districts are already apart of Oromia theres no part of Somali region for them to split from :deadmanny:

I’d say Awbare and Harawo can leave with Sitti but you staying under us feels better. I’ll be the abusive husband for as long as it suits me

I think the so called "abusive husband" needs to worry about his abusive father who calls for his innocent civilians to be killed every other month. :wow:

Zero percent chance of Deeganka Somalida being split. Online Qabilist trolls tend to be from Somalia, people in Kilinka are all under thread from qaladis so they will stick together

The thing is, regardless of what decision comes out of Addis; it’ll have to be put on a referendum, as was the case with SNNP.

I’m not even sure how popular this idea is to begin with. Obviously, social media doesn’t depict reality in its true scale. I’m sure that many would be against it, just like those who are in favor of it.

With that said, the likelihood of the Somali region being split soon is slim. Abiy will take advantage of divisions. Right know there’re disputes in western Tigray, which he may use as an excuse to push through a referendum to solve the matter. Many Amharas have been settled there, so it could happen. The only way it will occur for us, is if he announces that every region will be split all at once, which is unlikely now.

The Ethiopian House of Federation have today approved the establishment of a new federal region, called Southern Ethiopia Regional State, carved of the current Southern Nations, Nationalities and People’s (SNNP) Regional State.

When Abiy became PM in 2018, there were 9 federal regions (Somali, Oromia, Afar, Amhara, Harar, Tigray, Gambela, Benishangul-Gumuz, SNNP) and 2 charted cities (Addis, Dir Dhabe).

In 2019, Sidama Regional State was established from SNNP.
In 2021, South West Ethiopia Regional State was established from SNNP
Now, 2023, Southern Ethiopia Regional State will be established from SNNP.

With the new state approval, the former SNNP will officially come to an end. It will today comprise of 4 (SNNP, Sidama, South West, Southern Ethiopia) Regional States, bringing the total states of Ethiopia to 12 and 2 charted cities.

SNNPR split up is good our Silte brothers should get their own region but they'll probably be put in some cluster

These are online trolls who have to hide the fact they are sidelined and abused as border clans by other ethnics. So they make a grand conspiracy where their pain will extend to Ogadens and that it was thus a great plan that came from them against Darood.

This whole thread stinks of langaab cope from the Galjecel to the Karanle/Dir. Let them have their tea party in the african pol section though they need a safe space :heh:
