New Airport in Western Beledweyne amid Airport Corruption Scandal in the east

It seems GJ have got tired of the defunct airport in the east that floods every year and that is administered by the UN and ATMIS/AMISOM!

No more to water bucket firefighting brigade!

No more foreign troops denying them access when they feel like it.

And most importantly no more flooding airport

Imagine having to travel more than 200k to use an airport in another region? The people of beledweyne for years were forced to use Guriceel airport every single year when it rains and their administration would collect money from them and promise to build a new airport but all they do is add gravel and a few months later the airport is flooded all over again. Sadly it seems there’s a lucrative money corruption scheme going in the airport in the east side beledweyne!

Last year they said they would build a new modern airport with funding from the SFG ministry of aviation, money collected from wealthy businessmen and donations from the residents but a year of qawda maqashii waxna ha u qaban it seems the money was stolen all over again and all they’ve added is gravel

They eventually said they built a new modern airport.

And now it’s the rain season again, it seems the airport in the east have flooded all over again! back to guriceel it is

If I was a resident in the west I’d be mad too if I had to travel to 200k to use an airport in another region because the airport of my town floods every year. Viva GJ for realizing this money laundering scheme.

Unfortunately even the AMISOM and UN that control the airport in east beledweyne are in on it this is a report from two years ago when they also said they would refurbish it the airport


And conveniently enough they hired themselves and didn’t let any locals take part of the “refurbishment”

This is the airport in Dabarre (30km south from Guriceel) I was looking for yesterday when I stumbled over the reports about reer eastern beledweyne using Guriceel’s airports every year
