Let's start by saying I have love and hate relationship with the western world foreign policy. Let's start with what I love which is democracy and freedom and human rights being a god given right for all humans and shouldn't be tampered or altered or infringed by no man. I hold this value strongly as lama taabtan nor do I entertain any debate or muran about it.
But I also am a realist about those values and the right conditions need to be in place for a society to be a successful democracy such as financial independence and a quality education system that teaches people to freely think and also financial well being so their not hostage to identity politics or group think. So I love democracy but now how it is currently implemented, thinking you can take an illiterate, tribal or highly religious society overnight into a working democracy is totally careless leadership not that the idea is actually flawed. I am also big on neo traditional systems as the people trust and respect it and democracy should only compliment it not replace it.
The areas I hate about the west is it's constant military, proxy warfare, or economic sanction/siege geopolitical postures and following in the Roman foot steps. They rinse and repeat this posture and response even tho it usually never achieves a single objective that helps their own well being and interest but usually comes with major losses economically, international image and branding, and their own locals having low confidence in their state, which is down to poor leadership who selects a bunch of incompetent advisors based on mates or nepotism or financial interest not on actual skill, performance and track record.
The other area I hate about the west is it blatant disregard of international well being as if they live in some island. Their economic policy has to change from win-loss direction as it is now. Their World bank and IMF are currently not supportive of countries who are not white or allies of theirs by making nation building loans extra hard whether thru higher then normal interest rates, risk assessments that creates a never ending bureaucratic nightmare leading to valuable time being lost and time is the most cherished commodity.
The global south cannot develop and stuck between a rock and hard place due to the current western fiscal posture that doesn't allow these nations to end the poverty and aid trap because they need the capital to begin the necessary social and physical infrastructure which is a building block for market development. Fair enough the west says those govt are indeed not mature govt and the rule of law is weak and will end up in the wrong hands or not for the purpose it was given and their civilian population are highly ignorant and don't hold them to account since it's their name that is being milked.
If the west doesn't come to some middle ground with the global south, all I envision is those countries joining BRICS community with China and Russia as security guarantors and they will eventually build a BRIC version of the IMF and World Bank to allow these countries to develop. Their business class in the west weild way to much leverage thru bribes and donation who only care for their petty individual interest not seeing the global fall out that this can create.
Their business class want poor countries remain poor so they can dump and resell excess goods from industrial economies onto the global south whether it's expired or used is irrelevant to them as they still make a coin and extract the final value in the value chain.
It's just a shame their govt across both parties in the west whether left or right cannot see beyond their petty donor lists and party interest to assume power at all costs while watching the fall out from it and a new world order to emerge thru BRICS which is the fall out they will need to accept.
Currently China is fed up with the west using them as a dumping ground to manufacture while keeping the ideas and brains tied to wall street or silicon valley which is ironic how they steal all the gifted ppl worldwide and settle them in the west for their own selfish gain. Their centralising all talent to the western world, while telling china you will be our slave manufacturer only and the global south is told you will be our dumping grounds for our business people for all excess goods left over. That's not going to work in today highly digitalized and online world's with people having information at their finger tips unlike from 1950 to 90s when you could control the narrative thru newspaper and tv stations.
