My friend's family member died and she didnt cry or look sad

Is this a normal reaction others have? I am sure she is very sad as she was close to this immediate family member.

Everyone grieves in their own way. She may prefer to release her pent up emotions in private or it may be her way of grieving.

My dad's brother died and he didn't seem affected by it either.

He grew up as a nomad in a harsh environment and lost several family members to snakes. He also lost family during the war with Ethiopia and the civil war.

Maybe after seeing so much death in his life, he became desensitized.
