Mut'ah

I have this friend we work a part time jobb together and goes the to the uni who is a shia. She mention something called mut'ah and I was really suprised when she told me what it was. I didnt really understand what she was talking about as I keept changing subject because i dont talk about religion with other people. Once i got home and looked into it caajiib
She was really hitting on me and my monkey brain was totaly clueless. First ever hearing anything about this.

What are you doing bro?! Mu'tah is Haram. We aren't Shi'a. There are authentic Hadeeths from the prophet PPUH prohibiting mu'tah. Both Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim have narrated them.

Its haram, so is the Sunni equivalent “Misyar”. Both are types of temporary marriages that only benefit men and where the woman is required to waive almost all rights as a wife under Islam which consequently then defeats the purpose of a marriage in the first place. So no!

I did more research into this and only got confused. Some people say its discoraged other say its halal /haram
