Apparently the Chinese have mass re-education camps for muslims, forcing detainees to eat pork and drink alcohol. Part of the re-education is denouncing your ethnic background and all of your religious beliefs.

"Treasures of China" artshow opens in Saudi Arabia

Riyadh – A major exhibition showcasing aspects of the Chinese civilisation and culture opened its doors in Saudi.

Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTH) President Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz inaugurated the exhibition "Treasures of China" at the National Museum in Riyadh.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Prince Sultan bin Salman highlighted Saudi achievements in the field of archaeological discoveries, scientific research and development of human resources working in the field of heritage and archeology.

The expo, which runs until November, showcases 264 items supplied by 13 museums and cultural institutions – including the Palace Museum.

The exhibits feature 173 Chinese cultural relics, including the globally known Terra-Cotta Warriors. Close to half the items have never been showcased outside China before.

The State Administration of Cultural Heritage of China (SACH) and Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage and co-organising the exhibition which displays also objects from Chinese-Saudi joint archaeological excavations at the ruins of al Sereen site.

The joint project has provided valuable physical references for archaeological research involved with the Maritime Silk Road and testified close encounters between China and the Red Sea area in ancient times.

The display consists of five sections in chronological order, starting with "Beginning of Civilisation, Establishments of Etiquette," "the Unification, Consolidation and Development," "Prosperities and Diversified Communication," "Start-up of Business and Marine Trade," and "Palace and Royal Art."

There are ethnic Chinese and even foreign Muslims in China that aren't being treated like this. My guess is that it is only happening in Xinjiang province. It's a region that China annexed and the Uyghurs want their land back.
