Muhammad receives revelation that he can sleep with anyone he wants + Aisha's perfect response

IMG_2125.jpg

In this hadith, Aisha gets her first inkling that Muhammad may be a charlatan. Muhammad records a remarkably self-serving revelation (Quran 33:51) from Allah. In His eternal message to mankind, Allah declares to humanity that:

1) Muhammad can marry any woman that offers herself to him, and

2) Muhammad can spend the night, i.e. have sex, with any wife he wants (rather than cycle through his wives in order)

Muhammad’s revelations are often exceptionally self-serving, and Aisha’s quote is perhaps the perfect summary of the science of Asbab al-Nuzul (reasons for revelation).

Before anyone lies and says this Hadith is fake or unreliable:

Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī (Arabic: صحيح البخاري‎), also known as Bukhari Sharif (Arabic: بخاري شريف‎), is one of the Kutub al-Sittah (six major hadithcollections) of Sunni Islam.

Amin Ahsan Islahi, the notable Islamic scholar, has listed three outstanding qualities of Sahih al-Bukhari:

  1. Quality and soundness of the chain of narrators of the selected ahādīth. Muhammad al-Bukhari has followed two principle criteria for selecting sound narratives. First, the lifetime of a narrator should overlap with the lifetime of the authority from whom he narrates. Second, it should be verifiable that narrators have met with their source persons. They should also expressly state that they obtained the narrative from these authorities. This is a stricter criterion than that set by Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj.
  2. Muhammad al-Bukhari accepted the narratives from only those who, according to his knowledge, not only believed in Islam but practiced its teachings. Thus, he has not accepted narratives from the Murjites.
  3. The particular arrangement and ordering of chapters. This expresses the profound knowledge of the author and his understanding of the religion. This has made the book a more useful guide in understanding of the religious disciplines.

This Hadith was graded Sahih by Al-Bukhari himself:

Abū ‘Abd Allāh Muḥammad ibn Ismā‘īl ibn Ibrāhīm ibn al-Mughīrah ibn Bardizbah al-Ju‘fī al-Bukhārī (Arabic: أبو عبد الله محمد بن اسماعيل بن ابراهيم بن المغيرة بن بردزبه الجعفي البخاري‎‎; 19 July 810 – 1 September 870), or Bukhārī(Persian: بخاری‬‎), commonly referred to as Imam al-Bukhari or Imam Bukhari, was a Persian Islamic scholar who was born in Bukhara (the capital of the Bukhara Region (viloyat) of Uzbekistan). He authored the hadith collectionknown as Sahih al-Bukhari, regarded by Sunni Muslims as one of the most authentic (sahih) hadith collections. He also wrote other books such as Al-Adab al-Mufrad.

Ṣaḥīḥ (صَحِيْح) is best translated as "authentic". Ibn Hajar defines a hadith that is ṣaḥīḥ lithatihi – "ṣaḥīḥ in and of itself" – as a singular narration (ahaad; see below) conveyed by a trustworthy, completely competent person, either in his ability to memorize or to preserve what he wrote, with a muttaṣil ("connected") isnād ("chain of narration") that contains neither a serious concealed flaw (ʻillah) nor irregularity (shādhdh).

Lots of people must’ve suspected Mohammad’s divine revelations while he was alive but were afraid to leav.

There were lots of people leaving Islam after his death and a rebellion actually rose, subsequently a civil war.

gee it's like Muhammed was some sort of schizophrenic who wrote made up Islam for his convenience...
Yeah it seems like Muhammad was just seeing stuff and hallucinating. I think Muhammad has OCD too since demanded everyone to do things with their right hand

Yeah a lot of people questioned his prophethood. There's a Hadith of Muhammad saying "I can turn a mountain to gold" to prove he is a true Prophet, but he conveniently doesn't do it.

After he died the Muslims started making up miracles Muhammad did because he couldn't compare to the stories of Jesus or Moses.

funny that you take a small section of the hadith and taking it out of context.. A detailed answer is posted above.

Yo Ahmed your arguments have all been refuted online.. This is a somali forum not an Islamic debate forum.
That website's argument is that the word 'wish' should be more properly translated as 'innocent wish' as if that somehow changes anything. From this hadith it does sound like Aisha is skeptical about Muhammad's claim to be receiving messages from Allah. It does seem rather strange that the messages God is sending down (for all mankind) messages that relate to behaviour of those around Muhammad for his own personal benefit. For example why exactly is there a verse in the Quran about not annoying Muhammad? This is for all mankind right? Quran 33:53
