The story about the arc:
It's the arc that the Italians built when they finally won the war against Ethiopia, annexing them and adding them to the "New Roman Empire" that Mussolini was planning, had the Axis won the war- which we all now is impossible. Also, it's one of the few fascist/Axis monuments in the world- Germany destroyed theirs and Japan had theirs either destroyed by the US or were bought and used by the political right wing. Tldr; it's one of the last monuments that are left standing without people going ape shit crazy about.
