Misconception about somali tuugs

Most of you guys think somali criminals came from good homes and were brainwashed by rap music. There are certainly guys out there, that fits this discription, but most don’t.

Most somali criminals were already dropping from noolosha before they were 15. Fifteen. Most these guys had no aabo, a hooyo who couldn’t discipline them properly and live in areas with crime present. Where I live, these guys live in group homes by the age of 13-14 due to their violent behaviour. They are finalised tuugo when they reach 16 years of age.

What as a community is needed, is the community participating in raising the kids. We need sport clubs, tutoring and in general a youth facility where these kids could come and see positive somali ( male) figures. We need to help somali parents who can’t control their kids.

This is not the solution I knew plenty of kids that were having a slight rebel phase as teens with their parents. sending them to dhaqan Celis sometimes makes it worse. especially those camps

What do you expect when the father is chilling in Starbucks everyday talking about “ ma qabil this, ma qabil that” to his friends, while his son is out on the streets chilling with gangs etc.

It all comes down to father being absent, no father figue in the house. The Father is there to secure the household, he’s the man of the household, the leader of the family, strict discipline comes from the father, and sons always look up to their father and it’s the father choice to spend time with his son, or face the consequences of neglecting your son.

This is why nowadays, especially in the Somali community the father being absent causes huge problems within the household, and as a result somali kids are prone to join gangs etc.

Even if they had 1 or 2 kids its not a guarantee the kid becomes law abiding citizen, if the conditions at home are not so great. Luckily, our community could stop criminal behaviour if we would take some action.
