The idea that a crime is suddenly okay because the perpetrator is allegedly "mentally ill" is a western invention. It is insulting to the victims and bad for society.

Who decides what is and is not mentally ill? Aren't all criminals mentally ill to a degree? I struggle to imagine any child rapist or suicide bomber that isn't mentally ill.

But we don't care about their mental illness or their feelings. We're interested in getting justice for the victims and protecting society from deviants. So they must all be executed by firing squad.

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I agree. His confession could’ve been a forced one. The reason why it’s takes time for criminals to be convicted is because you can’t afford to make mistakes. Let’s say in this instance they got the wrong man. Well a quick confession and execution is wrong. That is one major mistake. The process must be thorough. One day it could your mother, father, sister, or even you. You don’t want to make a mistake.
