There is a scary ayah that exactly depicts this kind of situation Surah Ash Shura Ayah 14 whose tafseer I was listening to the other day.
[42:14]
And they divided not till after knowledge had come to them, through selfish transgression between themselves. And had it not been for a Word that went forth before from your Lord for an appointed term, the matter would have been settled between them [immediate punishment]
And verily, those who were made to inherit the Scripture after them are in grave doubt concerning it.
The final part of this verse details the consequences of such mutual jealousy based on the flimsy satanic urge/desire to dominate each other using the religion of Allah as a front, arguing around trivial subsidiary, superfluous matters which they endlessly quarrel about loosing sight of not only the fundamentals but the mission that was entrusted upon them.
Their own offspring as a result of this corruption and infighting between them will fall into doubt about the whole religion itself which we see today in the rise of atheism.
Think about these children being herded out of a place of worship how this effects their psychology and perception about their deen before it has reached the status of "sincerity" in their hearts ?
Not only is there a great risk that they would fall into doubt but this also plays into the wider satanic infidel false narrative that is often used which is that religion "divides" people which these buffoons play into and which is the mantra their offspring begin to adopt as they fall into doubt.
Hence as a result of this, great punishment awaits such people as the Ayah below details.

It's abt the refusal to allow another Somali to run the place. These idiot's argument is that " I've been donating all those years and therefore I am part owner ". They literally saying that they are shareholders and they must have a saying in every aspect.
This whole shit went down cause a group of guys ( these guys getting kicked out ) hired their own macalin on the weekends to teach their kids Quran in the mosque. I mean who does that ? Like, they didn't consult with the mosque authorities, they just went ahead like it's their qabiil regional administration

They view everything through the lens of the clan. If some are elected to the management board, others feel slighted because of a member of their clan not being in there as a member. This is why I view their religion as lip service and the clan being what they care about the MOST. God is not a priority but their dead clan father from a long ago is.
