I like Wasiir Gamal and I know this issue of secession affects him personally, however he is wrong for taking to twitter condemning what is affectively a non-issue, UK cannot recognize SL its a fact that has been a fact since SL declared independence and went above and beyond begging UK its former colonizer for recognition. It shows a lack of confidence that Wasiir Gamal even responded to this.

Also it is not his role to talk about foreign matters and foreign parliament debates/comments, we have a foreign minister, Gamal should be penalized for this emotional outburst.

First of all they are both leaders, General Odawaa is head of Somali armed forces and Gamal head of one of the most important ministerial positions.


In an alternate reality where 4.5 is abolished, draft constitution is finalized, and 1m1v elections take place, perhaps ? I would definitely support Gamal as I said he is very educated and calm mannered but lethal. Its a shame he let emotions get the best of him in his tweet, totally unnecessary and out of character.

Odawaa is very young and got a position that is way above his credentials, he should just hone his craft and remain General for a long time, also politics and armed forces should not mix, apple and orange, nothing about Odawaa tells me he is a true statesman, to be completely honest his position now says more about the state of Somali armed forces than his ability.

The UK government position is clear once again. In order to gain independence somaliland and Somalia have to agree on how to officially separate the two countries.
