Is it wrong to join the military to avoid taking loans. i learned recently the military can help pay for medical school if an individual gets accepted to a school and agrees to work for the military as a doctor. Met up with a old friend of mine who graduated during the fall and is studying for his MCAT so he can start applying to a few medical schools. He mentioned this to me, and also how the US military has its own medical school.
i always new the military can help pay for a college education but i never thought i can help with graduate studies.
i believe i can make it definently through undergrad school without taking loans. i am in my last semester at my community college and will be transferring to a university in the fall. i am low income. i do work part time, so i can most likely have my tuition taken care of which is my goal. I indeed have no plans on taking any loans at all. But graduate school is expensive. I have an uncle who went to a caribean medical school and graduated with about 250K in debt. which is a huge amount.
i always had an interest in the military. especially the US coast guard. Really liked the search and rescue aspect of it and the law enforcement aspect of it. i was really interested in working in the law enforcement field as a kid, than i hopped between law enforcement and health. That's honestly the big reason why i never did any illegal drugs. joining the coast guard is one of my few back up plans honestly if i lose interest in trying to become a doctor. the nursing route is a back up plan as well.
Taking loans are haram. i know this.do you guys know of any Muslims who decided to join the military to help pay for school. i have only seen one somali guy who was in the us military
