Military and paying for school?

Is it wrong to join the military to avoid taking loans. i learned recently the military can help pay for medical school if an individual gets accepted to a school and agrees to work for the military as a doctor. Met up with a old friend of mine who graduated during the fall and is studying for his MCAT so he can start applying to a few medical schools. He mentioned this to me, and also how the US military has its own medical school.

i always new the military can help pay for a college education but i never thought i can help with graduate studies.

i believe i can make it definently through undergrad school without taking loans. i am in my last semester at my community college and will be transferring to a university in the fall. i am low income. i do work part time, so i can most likely have my tuition taken care of which is my goal. I indeed have no plans on taking any loans at all. But graduate school is expensive. I have an uncle who went to a caribean medical school and graduated with about 250K in debt. which is a huge amount.

i always had an interest in the military. especially the US coast guard. Really liked the search and rescue aspect of it and the law enforcement aspect of it. i was really interested in working in the law enforcement field as a kid,than i hopped between law enforcement and health. That's honestly the big reason why i never did any illegal drugs. joining the coast guard is one of my few back up plans honestly if i lose interest in trying to become a doctor. the nursing route is a back up plan as well.

Taking loans are haram. i know this.do you guys know of any Muslims who decided to join the military to help pay for school. i have only seen one somali guy who was in the us military

A fatwaa was passed sometime ago saying that interest based "Student"loans for university students are permissible to take.

I shouldnt feel good as a muslim to "help" and that could be responsible for things the American millitary does

I mean think about it, after they pay your whole tuition, they can ask you to do everything you want

Before you know it you are in Afghanistan "fighting" against your own..i shouldnt do it, but i get how you feel, i also think medical school is the most beautiful study one could do, but not if you have to "fight" for america

Why wont you move to Europe for a couple years? Also you are lucky you are native english speaker so you can study it almost anywhere

Every option is better than helping the us millitary

Walaal you are better of taking interest based loan then going to uni and doing coke everyday and fucking es than joining the US army, would you seriously join the army of a taghuut nation that is at war with Allah and the Muslims? Interest = sin (haram) Joining US army= Kufr akbar

Because it is like a pressured thing to take you have no choice, like insurance for your car for example is like a must to use it because in some countries the governments pressure them.
