But women are naturally fatter than men. For example, an unhealthy body-fat percentage for a male would be sub 6-8% body fat but for a woman it would be sub 10-12%. And men are honestly pretty optimal at 10-15% or so whereas women are more optimal around 15-20%. Probably has a lot to do with how being a woman is more hormonally demanding given child-bearing and all. Fat is essential to proper endocrine function.
