I feel like instead of building vertically, they should have built outwardly, but maybe the geography of Makkah, which is sort of mountainous and rocky made that difficult. There are a lot of houses balancing on cliffs too.

They need to rebuild the whole area including those lil houses, the Prophet scw says in the end time people would be building tall buildings, to build one of the tallest buildings in mekkah seems insult to the prophecy, nacalad dhegecas, this would be much better without any modern buildings but dhegecas don't have any creativity nowadays
