Yes. We use iftiin for light and I hear people say 'Waxaas baa ifiyay' for something was flashing light or blinking.

As others noted, 'if' is light, and also means world as in 'if iyo aakhiro'. In poetry, the more popular term is 'kaah', which is also a lady's name as in 'kaaha'; the more contemporary word more common in the North is 'laydh', which is borrowed from Eng.

'ka' is the definite article 'the', and is heavily misused in informal Somali, and is similar to other articles 'da, ga' etc.
