I stumbled upon it once (for some reason it pops up frequently if you search up anything related to somali! shame) and my heart felt dark and heavy just from being there, I can't imagine how the x muslims who frequent it must feel. Why is there a whole forum dedicated to ex muslim somalis? they seriously need to get lives, there are not even enough somali people on the planet for such a small ethnic group like ours to have a special forum dedicated for their exmuslim population.

r/exmuslim is racist subreddit, it's full of cadaans who pretend they hate Islam but actually have racist intentions, I've read some fucked up stuff on there.

It's pretty much stormfront, but the cadaans can get away with it as they're hiding behind minorities.

Beating and punishing kids harshly with regards to the Deen, will of course effect them in the long run, potentially turning them away from religion and making them extremely bitter and hateful.

There has to be great reform in how the Deen is taught to children in the Muslim world. How are you going to beat a child, for mispronoucing or unable to remember versus in a language they do not speak? Infact, I would argue that dugsis and the like, don't do enough, how Arabic is not taught? I do not know. And under no circumstances, should there be beatings....because as Omar ibn Khataab (RA) said, you're helping Shaitan against that kid.

So true. I know many somali youth that were sent to Kenya and Somalia for dugsi/ dhaqan celis and they came back as gaal from the abuse
