Those dogs are more loyal and trustworthy and loving than the fleeing soldiers and police officers among the thousands of cowards who got on those flights. They better get their own seat.
Were they expecting the dogs be kicked and spat on? Anyone who does that to dogs is a monster and many people in certain countries do that.

I fail to see the surprise here; beyond the Afghans that essentially served as adjuncts to the NATO mission or as human rights activists, the West is not all that obligated.
The United States and other NATO members have an obligation to look after the thousands of interpreters previously in their employ; their services were invaluable, and their safety (their very lives) are in jeopardy.
