There are many in private collections but for some reason they haven't been digitised or published.

It would be helpful to have these collected by a trusted - Somali - scholar and printed. So we can have ready information on Ajuuran period like we do with Adal thanks to a copy of Futuh Al Habash being found by some French guy travelling thr horn and printed.

We have shit like this from the 1600s. It was found to be the earliest written source by a Somali we still have and was only known to the world recently due to fhe family of the man who still kept it at their home revealed it.

Not possible. There's many manuscripts in large cities like Mogadishu. And written by wadaads. Things ranging from clan lineages to wars such as Gaalo Madow.

There is no such thing as not possible, just show us a single evidence there are manuscripts

Timbuktu has massive libraries of manuscripts hidden away. Currently there's an effort to collect them all and digitise them. We should do the same
My worst fear is most of them is lost during the war

There are no ajuran manuscripts

There are original manuscripts and transcriptions about the era of Ajuuran domination. Lee V. Cassanelli for example saw a copy of an original manuscript in the possession of Shaykh Abow Yunis.

It was the duty of the sheikhs and learned men to record and update the genealogical systems in the Somali peninsula. Therefore instead of saying something doesnโ€™t exist, the topic would be better served if we found out who the sheikhs and learned men of the Ajuuran were and are?

@Khaemwaset showed you that old manuscript from 1692, because in that example someone actually bothered to visit the learned men of that clan and digitised their written heritage.

Its very telling that the guy laughing with you on every post, is a rabid anti-Somalist, maybe you should reconsider your position and keep an open mind.

I do keep an open it's simply the fact that I have never an ajuran manuscript

Bro, entire ruined cities are being dug up by amateurs, along with ancient artefacts in places of Somalia where people only a few years ago with full confidence would claim no serious trade or civilization ever occurred there, because they were so certain that these things only happened on the coasts. The situation is similar to how there are parts of Somalia where oil is literally seeping out of the ground, and just like our rich natural resources are completely neglected the same has happened to our rich heritage.

Its impossible to accurately trace back 10+ generations without putting it in writing and updating it that way over the span of centuries. The guys who did that, maintained their own private libraries. If the Somali Academy of Science and Arts still existed, multiple teams trained in manuscript handling and preservation would be dispatched, first to the major clans, then the sub-clans, the different orders, the urban elders. etc.

This could have been done before the war, but unfortunately you need clan-neutral leaders on every level to achieve that sort of heritage preservation and revelation, and we havenโ€™t reached that level of objectivity and seeing the common good yet.
