The Jews built themselves up in their exodus. They come from different races and backgrounds but they always kept that burning desire to return to their homeland with splendour and glory. The blacks in America were never allowed to build up their own institutions in America, that's the difference between the two.

Getting out of the vehicle is the last thing to do in a hostile environment all alone. He is young so I can understand how he didn’t see the dangers as clearly.

Why would they? The United States is their home and they've made immense contributions to it in cultural, artistic and even scientific terms.
African-Americans have literally been there far longer than virtually every white population that now regards the United States as their home.
Your question also implies that whites can be global while everybody else has to resign themselves to certain corners of the globe -- to which they apparently belong.
That's what a simple google search will render you. Also, that level of hostility and incivility by the residents of that neighbourhood is unwarranted. African Americans have been in the US for as long or longer than most European Americans. The Natives were mostly assimilated, annihilated, and had most of their land usurped from them. America is a polyethnic nation whether you like it or not and the only ones who can truly lay claim to it were there for thousands of years everyone else is a guest.
