Off topic but relevant:
Southern Indians, a lot of Filipinos/Brazilians and native Australians are black but none use it as a form of identity, it is only an American thing. For some reason, Americans want to fit everyone into a box, you are either White, Black or Asian. Somalis are black but so is 90 percent of Africa and a good portion of the world. Imagine if an American with that color ideology went to any part of Africa and claimed he/she is black and that everyone should simply identify with color, they would have laughed at. In most of the world, its ethnicity over color identity and Somalis chooses to identify with a blood/culture and shared history over color. However, Americans and in particular African Americans (not recent waves of Africans immigration to the USA) who do not get that.
