Af Soomali is broken into two: Maxaa Tiri and Maay Tiri. So yes, it is Somali.
Somali is not one singular language.

Thats like saying Cantonese is not Chinese because Mandarin is the main dialect :bell:

Maay Maay cannot be understood by Maxaa Tiri speakers unless they learn it therefore it is another language. :kanyeshrug:

Okay, but you can't say it isn't Somali though. It is spoken by Somali's therefore it is a Somali language.
Jyst like Maxa Tiri is also a Somali language. We don't have a monopoly on Somalinimo especially those of us who claim an Arab father kkkkkkkkk

France, Italy, and Germany killed off most of their dialects.

Somalia can kill off all non-Maxa Tiri if the gov focussed on this.

The first time I went to Somalia I was shocked when I heard Af May May . It was in Xamar , haafada Mediino specifically where there was a lot of Rahweyn . I thought there was only 1 universal Somali language and was confused . I thought I didn't know Somali for shit :liberaltears:

I can actually understand some of it. Its talking about the writing system in MayMay and about the number system.
But yes, they are Somali so it is a Somali language

we are a federal country now af maay will be saved in koonfur galbeed constitution you cant remove it.

Af maay maay is one of the three main groups of the Somali linguistic varieties such as Northern and Benadir.

The thing is, you don't even try to understand it. If you listen closely, you can get the jist of what they are saying but you turn your noses up at them. You're not somehow better or more Somali :hillarybiz:
I am not from the South but I can understand a good chunk of ehat they say. I can even understand other languages like Afar and Oromo because of the shared vocab.

You're too proud and have nothing to show for it.
