There are successive UNSC resolutions that consistently call for all countries to respect the territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia - which consider Somaliland to be part of. Neither DJibouti, Ethiopia, nor Kenya can bypass it.

The attack on DJibouti is misplaced here. Somalilanders shouldn't be putting pressure on DJibouti. There is a path to win statehood, but Somaliland seems to me misguided on that path. People need to be educated on the road countries win statehood.

Generally, in governance a country can choose not put up the flag of the visitor if it’s not a state visitor.

State visits are generally conducted by the Head of State, which in SL’s case is technically Farmaajo.

The same thing was done to Rooble when he visited the UAE, which has beef with Farmaajo.

A country can still choose to put up the flag if they want to. IOG chose not to.

Djibouti is SL lifeline to the world, since they dont wanna go through Mogadishu they get their passports, businesses, internet from Djibouti, the SOMCABLE that runs through the Red sea is owned by a Djiboutian based company. Remember SNM and Djibouti were also allies so Guelleh is really not threatened by flags.
