After the recent controversies of the large waves of migrants arriving in Italy, Libyan coastguards are now ramming into boats filled with migrants. This one had 50 migrants aboard

Loool. Most pro-migration voices tend to come from human rights organizations rather than the public and to a lesser degree politicians in Europe. But it’s true that they have different standards for their own countries vis a vis foreign countries.

Im 50 50 on the idea because it ends up in death of many people but on the other hand will you risk total demographic death for your nation because a couple people died.


After awhile people will stop coming if the success rate does not seem worth it.

If the demographic matter is of any concern, then why wait until after they depart for the sea to act, rather than take preventive measures to combat migration inside the country?

It may not be easy, but imo letting dozens/hundreds of people die intentionally is not justifiable under any circumstances.

Establishing a puppet government in Libya and barring them from crossing the border would be the wisest course of action for them, it is true. The migrants' crossing fees indeed contribute significantly to the libyan economy, but the EU can certainly pay them more than what they are now receiving. It will be easy peasy if they carry out this plan throughout the Maghreb.

Ever since the start of the civil war in Libya, the country has been in a state of despair.

Hopefully, the people there at the very least by now are humbled as anyone at anytime can be met with the ‘wrath’ of God.

I can understand why migrants take advantage of Libya due to the power struggle between the different factions and without a gov’t that controls their borders. Which in turn paves the way for smugglers to have a presence without being detected or sometimes being in cahoot with the ‘authorities’.

But Tunisia has always been stable with a proper gov’t; I don’t see how they can’t combat irregular migration since they have total control of their borders. The current ruler, Kais Saied is no different from his predecessor Zine al-Ebidine Ben Ali in terms of being authoritarian, but it’s still escalating.

But Tunisia has always been stable with a proper gov’t; I don’t see how they can’t combat irregular migration since they have total control of their borders. The Tunisians always accuse the Libyans and say that they are the ones who bring the Africans through the desert in southern Tunisia But their country is small. They can stop it, but they do not want to. Maybe if the Europeans gave them some money then they would stop this
