Jowhar: November 12, 2023: Subject: Notification and Reinforcement of Decision,

Therefore, the Hirshabelle Government, acknowledging the importance of implementing the significant project of constructing the new airport in Mogadishu, which has been allocated as detailed in the report and documents of the higher offices, covers an area of (10km x 5km) located between Ceelmacaan area and Warsheekh District. This location has been recognized and approved as meeting all the national and international aviation laws and regulations.

The Hirshabelle Government once again emphasizes the legitimacy of the previous decision regarding the aforementioned land, and reaffirms that it can only be used for the purpose it was authorized, in consultation with the local community.

When will they finish this project?

When will they finish this project?
Construction hasn’t started. It was signed off by FGS as the new location back in 2020 but this was during the election fiasco so not much focus since. Guudlawe is confirming that the project is still valid as the land is under Hirshabelle administration and was allocated to BRA/FGS

What happened to it being in Dayniile or are they planning to create their own one?
Never was meant to be Dayniile.

This took 8 months to build

And this one 1 year

Both build in a demined area after the Karabakh war. If we had the money for this airport it would've already been build.

@Step a side @abzss it is very unlikely that private landowners will be compensated for the 50 sq km. If this was urban land you could expect monetary compensation, but land bought for speculation will likely be seized without compensation.

Also the FGS does not have the money to buy out 50 sq km of private land and international partners almost never pay for land acquisition.

Are you betting on your investments monetary value rising due to the increased economic activity that comes with international airport? I have heard many embassies would be relocated there with some government ministries. Not to mention Muqdisho business community discussing opening a deepwater port near Ceel Macaan.
Spot on. @Thegoodshepherd most of the cheap lands intentionally bought by AB community in bulk past few years was around Ceel macaan area and not where this new international airport is set to be which is further out. Don't think there will be overlap between the two so land owners around the area will economically benefit.

Both current airport and port have to be moved. No room for expansion for both. This is a win regardless as green and socio economic zone will be moved to this direction of the city

Yes yes yes yes! This is what I like to read! :denzelnigga:

Deep down I always knew these areas close to Banaadir would be experiencing a boom in value as the city continues growing rapidly year after year. More and more Somalis are becoming urbanised. The area around ceel macaan will link the city with the airport. With the prospect of a port being built it’s only a matter of time I will receive phone calls from people wanting to buy my goof.
