I thought that was Arab culture. I had no idea some Somalis ate the head, but some eat Calooleey also.

Somalis do eat the head also but it's usually reserved for awoowo/ayeeyo and it isn't prepared often.

Reer bari might be different. In waqooye, although reer baadiye view eating madax and calool as taboo, reer magaal don't.

That's what I'm thinking. I don't think Puntites eat madax, calool etc, but coastal Puntites do eat fish, whereas Reer Nugaal and Mudug don't like that, but became more open-minded recently. So there are different taboos and hangups everywhere.
