My teachers and girls I speak to get sly sly offended they think I am being disrespectful for not looking at them while talking, and they probably think I am shy or something

I feel icky if a man just keeps looking at me. So, no I don’t mind if they are not consistently staring. The important thing is that the person is being attentive and seems like they are digesting what you’re saying.

I try to give direct eye contact since I think it’s better for conversations but not with niman. I try to lower my gaze as well.

Shyness (in the Islamic sense) makes people more endearing to me. It’s a beautiful characteristic. And I respect Muslim men who try to follow the diin as much as they can.

Btw, those Reddit posts are so unbelievably dumb. People are really showing their lack of Islamic knowledge.
