This video brought tears to my eyes.
It's sad and depressing to witness your homeland in a state of deterioration due to these man made consequences.
It was never like this where I was forcibly displaced from the region during the late 90's by these hand talking armed bandits.
It was tropical from the estuary the mouth of the river was green all the way to the small outlets of water we had hectares of farmlands and lush vegetations for cattle grazing. My grandfather and his forefathers planted trees for generations.
I have documentaries and photos to prove that.

I know this is ironic but sometimes I'd wished that Siad Barre was never ousted eventhough he was a ruthless dictator, his iron fists kept these uneducated clinically braindead nomads at bay

there are these thousands of cawaan cawaan dhashay storming and descending to whatever remaining farms like locusts contributing to the region's mass desertification.
But what can I do , I was deprived of land a long time ago and had to avoid looking back.
I remember a relative of mine had collected the sample of sand from my village the earthy beautiful soil in a jar where he travelled along with it the way here he kept it for years. I would often see him pour the sand in his hands repeatedly, whenever he was homesick and he get preoccupied with his hometown.
It's sad the place you was born in you see it as a memory.
