Sometimes selling khat in the local market is the only profession they have to make a decent living.

right now there really isn't any reason to have the mira ban, we defeated them in the ICJ, we won the war in Beledxawo our first military win against Kenya, we ended the mistreatment of Somalia citizens legally going to Kenya. Yeah I agree this lifting of the ban is appropriate now, also remember Kenya is having an election very soon, you don't want machete wielding mira farmers killing Somalis in Kenya. I mean Somalis will always get killed in the violent Kenyan election season, but lifting of the ban at least gives them less drive to target us.

Tbh I don’t really mind. This was a great strategy by Farmaajo as it changed the goal post, and put HSM in a stronger position. Kenya will look at this as a huge victory, and hopefully forget about the maritime boundary.
