The President declared a VISA FREE KENYA! NO foreign country citizen will pay money for visa to visit Kenya! I wish he said it last year when i visited Mombasa. I had to pay the visa twice! Given i am always prepared, i booked my ticket six months in advance and also applied for a visa at the same time. After paying money for my visa i read the fine print detail. Visa only valid for three months starting date of visa purchase. Which means in six months my visa will fail. So i had to buy a second visa as my trip came close. It put a salty taste in my mouth and cursed the country! But i think i forgive them now for being not greedy!

And why not? I have to admit my experience was horrible. The Kenyans love bribery and harassment of tourists. Although the native people are gentle, and polite. It was disgusting.

People have limited vacation per year. No one who values their time and money wants to go to Kenya if they have no connection there. I knew 1 Indian (generational whitewashed Canadian), an elderly white couple (they love Black people) that went to Kenya. They all said they enjoyed it but I could see in their eyes they were disappointed.

Small African countries should literally be trying this enmasse. 500k Chinese in some shithole like Equatorial Guinea and it'd be a tourist destination within a decade.
