This petition is to bring awareness and deliver the justice of the many girls and boys locked up in Somalia and Somaliland to reform and change their lives.

My name is Jasmin Osman, I was tortured and locked up in a so-called cultural reforming Quran school it was used in a disgraceful manner as a guise with religion and culture at play...

Let's unite to bring this into a greater light for the greater good.

How will you stop Somali parents from sending their own kids to such places if they’re so inclined?

The only way for a Somali child to dodge that is for them to refuse being sent to Somalia, but since they offer it as some sort of trip and then later confiscate their passports, they end up being subject to whatever they’re exposed to.

I deleted the offensive posts of that idiot and none will be tolerated on this thread. Oppose it within respect to the Op or take your insults to some other thread.

Why was this sent for Donald Trump? It depends if the child was corrupted with drugs, etc deserve to be sent. If they were sent for no reason will be impossible to justify why. If you didn’t know Somali or anything about the culture then they should go there but not for a prolonged length of time.

support my petition

and together lets help in shutting down child abuse centres in europe for gross neglect and abuse that children often face including the unnecessary separation of children from their parents

Parents have the right to relocate their children if they feel it's in their best interest. I don't support abuse

@Jaydaan

First, she’s discussing about a prison she was sent to for dhaqan cellis and not parents taking their children to their homeland to learn more about their country of origin and culture.

Secondly, Somalis mistakenly believe that they are the guardians of their children and have every right to forcefully keep these children in a country that they don’t want to be and are there against their wishes by confiscating their passports and travel documents. In most diaspora jurisdictions, this is considered kidnapping and might result in criminal charges laid against these parents. I have seen where these kids complained to their embassies abroad via emails and the parents were given court orders to return them back or be contempt of court and sent to prison.

Sxb, caadi ma ihid, you’ve been chasing the op on all her threads and diminishing her experiences. You also claimed to have been sent to one of those prisons for dhaqan cellis and has done good for you. We got your point, but not two experiences are the same and give her an opportunity to deal with her bad experience.

the op is just a she has no idea how lucky she is that she got sent to dhagan celis instead of child services foster care notorious for neglect and abuse and the unnecessary separation from parents or worse imprisoned at juvenile prisons where she could be at risk of assault and sexual abuse

you and the op have a double standard of hating on dhagan celis but not juvenile prisons or child services foster homes natorious for abuse neglect, assault and child sexual abuse

@One Star To Rule Them All

It’s great to understand and master your mother tongue, but that’s not the point here. It’s about sending kids to prison like institutions where they are physically abused for “behavioural” problems. I was speaking Somali as a child and taught the language at home by my parents. I never required dhaqan cellis from strangers to teach me Somali.

If this true it’s pretty sad that parents are willingly putting their kids in a place where they get tortured. That kid will come out hating you forget the reform you were hoping for

I'm sorry for what this young lady went through. No one supports that. But this is rare case. Also parents have the right to keep their children where they want. I'm not gonna let the government raise our children. We have a culture and way of life and we have the right to raise our kids within our culture
