So for hundreds of years the political class of the north were HY. That is why a alliance is needed against them.

@Bohol Do you mean the elites in the colonial administration?

Indeed. The political elite. Even before that we had our own administration (Sharmarke Salih).
Anyway this explains a lot. A lot of people know once HY gets into power they will rule for
hundreds to thousand years. It is a legitimate concern.

@Bohol Generally the coastal clans were most influential which undoubtedly meant that when the Admin was based in Berbera, the Ciise Muuse and Musa Arreh Dominated.

After it moved to Hargeisa, the Hargeisa clans (Sacad Muuse, Arap and Ciidagale) dominated. See the following:

@Cumar the Musa Carre were in a different league. The political class of the north for a longtime (over hundreds years) were HY. While the business sector was SM based.

Abti are you talking about the early modern period or British Somaliland?

It sounds new to me because Habar Awal were the most represented in the British Somaliland administration since they were British allies and Berbera was the capital while HY and HJ were working with the Dervish at the start and raided against the people in western Somaliland and also collided with the British.

As for the end of civil war. Habar Awal dominated both politics and the economy.

True, Sacad Muuse used to run Berbera port and trade in those days but left for Hargeisa after internal civil wars.

Just read it. Both HA and GX had their roles to keep the nation going. :obama:

Today HA are most the flexible and can do multiple roles. :denzelnigga:

The difference is HY never needed a alliance and did it single handedly for hundreds of years.

That was temporary abti. Also, HA were his allies. His reign only lasted 28 years. Most interesting HY period is when they was taking over in Hawd.

The difference is HY never needed a alliance and did it single handedly for hundreds of years.

Some fool spilling nonsense doesn't mean anything. British Somaliland had clans with their own roles, it wasn't a hundred years but who cares? Colonialism was the biggest L for Somalis anyways.

It wasn't as clear cut though. From your source:

I remember Xasan Yonis Habane supporting Tuur well into 92-93.
