Jamila Tries To Showcase Garowe But Faraaxs Couldn’t Contain Their Ignorance

There are many kenyati teachers and cooks in hargeisa and they never face discrimination. I even saw a women from south Africa (probably an english teacher) who was shopping at my uncle's store a few days ago.
probably because maybe the North doesn’t have a history of Somali Bantus living amongst them. You lot save all your hatred for Oromos.

True. Oromos face more discrimination than any other group in SL probably cause many of them are beggers.

No the woman said she is called Dark skinned by them did you even watch the video? That’s why Angelina said that.
The subconscious colourism jumped out :ftw9nwa:

My intuition read this as "Dark skins are supposed to be at the bottom, who are they to possibly show disdain for others?" :ftw9nwa:

you clearly don't read between the lines sis loool
I can but you misunderstood. They were trying to make fun of her for being dark skinned and Angelina said they are even darker, which doesn’t make any sense.

You brain is colorist, so I’m not shocked you read it that way.

A good rule in life is to also have principles and be honest and call a spade a spade. They know damn well Islam is anti-racist, so why advocate it?

At the end of the day, read the room and when dealing with people call them with what you can see they want to be referred to as. We hate it when we’re called Somalian even though it is an innocent word steeped in ignorance mostly, so why call West Africans who have nothing to do with Madowweyne Ja*** when talking to them?

The anonymity of the internet makes people bold, this is why people easily disregard Islam. They face no consequinces if they say stuff without nobody knowing. They and all of us myself included should know Allah SWT is always watching and nothing is hidden from Him. Everybody knows this but chooses to ignore it.

Everybody prefers to be addressed by their own identity. I prefer to be called somali, not african for example. The woman is actually Tanzanian, the kid should have asked where she is from and thats it. Its obvious she is jåreer so move on.
Jåreer is actually good word to refer to non-horner black africans, who have kinkier hair then us but we have unfortunately turned it into something negative. I wish the term would become neutral again.

There was a thread of a Somali man recording an asian man saying Ching Ching in a Somali port. Ajanabi waa ajanabi in Somalia idk why ppl tryna shove this PC culture in Somalia when the rest of the world does the same thing. Like @World said go to Latin America they’ll call you negro or gringo to your face or Eastern Europe or even Italy
Still doesn’t make it right sxb shit is wrong in my opinion they should have some respect

i can’t hear them. but from what i see, they’re just kids playing in front of a camera. that’s what kids do. why u calling them guys for as if they’re grown men? displaying your racism, just like how western media portrays 12 year old innocent black children as grown men.
I’m displaying my racism while the ones in the video are calling a random hijabi jar33r ? Kkk stop running loops u know it’s wrong they learn this shit at their houses

Tanzania is a beautiful country and the Somalis that settled there in the 1800s are treated well by the locals even the Yemenis are treated well the current president of Tanzania is a half yemeni woman who’s father settled there in the 60s

I actually know Somali Tanzanians and it is not that much roses and flowers.

They get discriminated against as well by the Tanzanians. There's ignorance in every culture.

Me too and I can tell that this incident was just ignorance, not innocent fascination. Why did the child need to STATE, not ask twice ”jåreer baad tahay”. Definitely weird. Whenever I have been in a country where there is no black/somalis people look at me amused and asked me where did I come from. Its ok to be curious but you got to remember how to go on about it. Haven’t had people touch my hair though, but I have taken multiple pictures with locals.

Im not saying this was racism and this video is blown out of proportions by @Grigori Rasputin ( walaalo delete video we get flamed) Its just ignorance from the boys part. Nothing wrong with being curious, just be polite about it.
that’s just how somalis are back home, they’re not rude but that’s just how the culture is. in sweden it is considered rude to give strangers you don’t know food, in somalia they’re upfront and straightforward which westerners consider rude. the lady lives in somalia and she doesn’t consider them rude, but you’re from the west and don’t understand the local culture which is why you do.

Looool, I lived in PL and can tell you if you randomly called a person you don’t know j*reer in the street, you’ll be seen as rude. You may even get scolded or reprimanded by an elder wallahi.

For example, calling a Hawiye person “waryah Hawiye” is rude even though that is their tribe.

In PL, referring to someone by their clan or skin tone is extremely rude unless they are your friend or relative.

Stop trying to excuse ciyaal suuq behaviour.

Regardless of your opinions, we can all agree this isn’t good PR.

A fellow African Muslim hijabi came to our country and got insulted in the street live on camera. Maybe it isn’t an insult to you but it is to many people.

We should be welcoming her instead of making her feel uncomfortable. Imagine if this happened to a Somali in Nairobi.
Way worse shit then that happens to Somalis in Kenya lol they don’t f*ck wit us down there ever since the westgate mall and garissa university incidents
