At the end of the day, read the room and when dealing with people call them with what you can see they want to be referred to as. Looool, I lived in PL and can tell you if you randomly called a person you don’t know j*reer in the street, you’ll be seen as rude. You may even get scolded or reprimanded by an elder wallahi.

For example, calling a Hawiye person “waryah Hawiye” is rude even though that is their tribe.

In PL, referring to someone by their clan or skin tone is extremely rude unless they are your friend or relative.
