I don't think it's intentional, he seems to me very sincere which is why he's popular. He's a relic of the past. His banter is also great.

I think it is. He acts like a stereotypical Victorian era British man. Nobody behaves like that unless they are intentionally mimicking the past. He's a loser, imo. People like him because he is so weird, not for his insightful ideas.
