1st July is the day Somalia (Italian Somaliland) got its independence from Italy @ 1960 and Joined British Somaliland to Form the union what is today the Somali Republic. Also known as Somalia.

26th June is the day the British Somaliland (Somaliland) got its independence from the British. They were a country till 1 July, when they formally joined the union with Italian Somaliland (Somalia)

27 June is the day Djibouti (French Somaliland) got its independence from France
