Is Weed the best solution for the khat problem?

I know this may sound shocking to some of the conservative folks but this is for the open minded viewers. as we know Khat is the most expensive drug in the horn of Africa and Somalis don't grow their drug of choice . This created social problem as men are spending too much time and family resources on khat. Many rural communities are indebted to khat dealers and they are forced to give their most valuable livestock or crops to khat dealers. What's the solution then ?

In my opinion Weed is the most viable alternative of khat . It ticks all the boxes . First and foremost Weed is not haram in Islam same like the khat , It can grow every where in our land even in your rooftop so basically it's free. We can save billions of dollars by simply switching to weed . Its well studied substance compare to the khat so we already know it's positive or negative effects plus you can get high better than khat. We should be open minded to discuss about the solutions of our real problems , Whats your Opinion on this ????

Nah, drugs of any kind are the recourse of the discontent. Until people are truly comfortable, healthy and content they'll always seek out things like khat, weed, alcohol, p0rn, excessive gaming and any other bad habit under the sun.

I think only a minority number of people use weed in the urban benaadir surroundings and the good thing is those ciyal xamar people eat less khat compare to other Somalis . I think weed is less exposed to other parts of the Somali peninsula. Where I grew up burao I have never seen any one using that drug and it was taboo . Alcohol was accepted even though it's haram , but those who smoke weed were known as handcups if you are xashiishadole you are disadvantaged . The first time I have seen Somali smoking weed was just 6 years ago. Believe me

If we compare the two. Weed is more suitable and less expensive for our poor people. Here is the difference

That's the worst case scenario. Khat plus weed and is totally the opposite of my expectation. What I know is people who smok weed drink less alcohol . So at least I expect the same effects. Of course there will always be some substance abusers. But I genuinely believe this will safe the Somali economy. An average 1 in every 5 people use weed in Europe and the developed world while Khat is localised into the world's poorest region. We should follow the trend , if weed is bad its bad for the world . Khat problem is only effecting Somalis and Yemen.

Cannabis has proven to be a good replacement from those dangerous pharmaceutical drugs . I'm sure replacing cannabis for khat will have positive affect on the society.
A khat user will spend alot of money and time away from doing his parental and husband duty while a cannabis user will just want to go home eat food and slap some cheeks.

The ganja back home and most in africa have zero CBD content and very little thc. The growers back home also use wrong fertilizers and dknt cure buds properly after harvest .

Yeah it stains your teeth and you cant sleep for the night the high lasts 8 hours. But its pretty consistent unlike weed which dies down after an hour. It makes you horny tho so be careful

I remember seeing uncles eat that shit back in xamar and they used to come home with red wide eyes and laugh through the night whilst sleeping in the next day and barely eat anything
