It's an estimate and a projection of population size based on un data. It changes according to the data provided by the un for example it updated itself in 2022. Take it with a grin of salt.

There are a lot of websites that show differing results.

Somalia is progressing forward and by next year a population census although not perfect but still better than not having any census will be carried out by the somali government. This will give us more reliable estimate of the somali population. I think other than kenya somalia would be the only other country in the horn of africa to carry out such a task if i'm not mistaken.
