Is this actually Somali architecture or was it built by Italians?

It is definitely not Italian style, except for that cathedral. But even that cathedral looks a bit influenced by the local style and doesn't look like the ones in Italy.

For real Italian architecture in Africa, have a look at Asmara. That place got a lot of Italian architecture.
